Lesson 1: The English Alphabet and Pronunciation.

1. Overview
Welcome to your first step in learning English! The English alphabet consists of 26 letters. Mastering these letters and their correct sounds is the foundation of reading, writing, and speaking clearly.

2. The 26 Letters of the English Alphabet
The alphabet is divided into two main categories: Vowels and Consonants.

Vowels (الحروف المتحركة)
There are 5 core vowels (and sometimes 'Y'). They are extremely important because every English word must contain at least one vowel sound:
- A, E, I, O, U

Consonants (الحروف الساكنة)
The remaining 21 letters are consonants:
- B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, V, W, X, Y, Z

3. Pronunciation Guide & Sounds
Pronunciation in English can sometimes be tricky because a single letter can make different sounds depending on the word.
- Letter A /eɪ/: Sounds like "ay" (e.g., Apple, Age).
- Letter C /siː/: Can sound like a hard 'K' (e.g., Cat) or a soft 'S' (e.g., City).
- Letter G /dʒiː/: Can sound hard (e.g., Go) or soft (e.g., Giant).
