Talking About Ability with Can and Cant

Lesson 10: Talking About Ability with Can and Cant.

1. Overview
In this lesson, you will learn how to express what you are physically or mentally able to do using the modal verb "can" and its negative form "cant".

2. Using "Can" for Ability
"Can" is used to express ability, capability, or permission. It never changes its form, regardless of the subject (no "-s" for third person):
- I can swim.
- She can speak English.
- They can code in Python.

3. Using "Can't" for Lack of Ability
To express that someone is unable to do something, use "can't" (cannot):
- I can't fly a plane.
- He can't read French.

4. Asking Questions with "Can"
To form a question, place "Can" at the very beginning of the sentence:
- Can you swim?
- Can she help me?
