Past Continuous Tense

Lesson 8: Past Continuous Tense.

1. Overview
Describe actions that were ongoing at a specific moment in the past using the Past Continuous tense.

2. Structure
[Subject] + [was / were] + [verb + -ing]
- I was working at midnight.
- They were studying English.

3. Combining with Past Simple
Often used with the past simple to show an action interrupted by another:
- I was writing code when the power went out.

4. Examples & Sentences
- What were you doing at 8 PM yesterday?
- She was sleeping when he called.
