Second Conditional for Hypothetical Situations

Lesson 7: Second Conditional (Hypothetical Situations).

1. Overview
Express unreal, imaginary, or highly unlikely situations in the present or future using the Second Conditional.

2. Structure
If + [Past Simple clause], [would + base verb clause]
- If I had a million dollars, I would travel the world.
- If I knew how to fix this bug, I would tell you.

3. Note on the Verb "To Be"
In formal English, use "were" for all subjects in the if-clause (e.g., If I were you, I would take that job).

Complete the sentences using the Second Conditional:
