1. Overview

2. Indefinite Articles: A and An
Use "a" or "an" with singular, countable nouns when talking about something general for the first time:
- Use "a" before words starting with a consonant sound (e.g., a car, a book, a house).
- Use "an" before words starting with a vowel sound (e.g., an apple, an egg, an umbrella).

3. Definite Article: The
Use "the" with singular or plural nouns when the listener or reader knows which specific thing you are talking about (e.g., The sun, The book on the table, The cat outside).
