1. Overview
In this lesson, you will learn how to express ownership and belonging in English using possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns.

2. Possessive Adjectives
Possessive adjectives show who owns something. They always come directly before a noun:
- My (e.g., This is my computer)
- Your (e.g., Where is your phone?)
- His (e.g., That is his car)
- Her (e.g., She loves her cat)
- Its (e.g., The dog wagged its tail)
- Our (e.g., This is our house)
- Their (e.g., Those are their books)

3. Possessive Pronouns
Possessive pronouns also show ownership, but they replace the noun entirely and do not need a noun after them:
- Mine (e.g., This laptop is mine)
- Yours (e.g., Is this pen yours?)
- His (e.g., That book is his)
- Hers (e.g., The jacket is hers)
- Ours (e.g., The victory is ours)
- Theirs (e.g., The choice is theirs)

- This is my desk, and that desk is yours.
- She brought her bag, but he forgot his.
