Pre-Intermediate Reading Practice

Last summer, Sara decided to take her very first trip outside her home country. She booked a flight to Barcelona, Spain, because she always wanted to explore its famous architecture, taste traditional Mediterranean food, and practice speaking Spanish with local residents.

On her first day, Sara visited the historic Gothic Quarter and walked through the busy central streets. Although she initially felt nervous about getting lost, she used a digital map on her smartphone to navigate easily. In the afternoon, she sat at a cozy outdoor café, ordered a refreshing drink, and wrote postcard notes to her family back home.

Looking back on the adventure, Sara realized that traveling alone helped her become much more confident, independent, and open to discovering different cultures around the world.
